Lauro Fioretti has been involved in espresso coffee machines for the last 20 years. He started in the after sales service department gaining a deep experience in the field for several years. At the moment, he is responsible for Nuova Simonelli’s Education Centre. Lauro started supporting WBC in 2007 as a judge, and is a certified judge since 2010 and a WCE rep from 2013. He’s judged national and regional championships in many countries. Lauro is also an AST since 2010 for the Coffee Diploma System modules Barista Skills, Brewing, Sensory, and Roasting. He helped build the Barista module as part of the creators team, is a member of SCAE’s research committee since 2014, and of WCE’s educational committee IDSC since 2011. Lauro’s also a certified Qgrader since 2012. He has a lot of friends in the barista coffee community and you can find him at many coffee events. “I’m looking forward to meet new coffee friends, share knowledge, and have fun!!!”
Simon James is an AST at Genovese Coffee, a family owned roastery in Melbourne Australia. The Genovese family has been roasting coffee for 3 generations, and they have Australia’s leading Coffee training facility, offering all SCAE CDS modules.
With over 16 years experience in coffee, Simon began working in small specialty cafes, and high volume cafes as a Barista and Manager. In 2007, he competed in his first regional Barista championship, placing 3rd, then placed 2nd in the 2010 Australian Barista Championship.
Simon has been a Barista Trainer for over 10 years, with extensive experience in developing coffee standards & training systems for small & large businesses. He became an AST in 2014, then completed the SCAE Coffee Diploma before leading the Intermediate Barista Skills at BGE Barista Camp in Riccione 2015.

Vini is a SCAE qualified AST who was also the first qualified Q Grader in Ireland. He chairs the SCAE Ireland Education Committee as well as teaching many of the SCAE Education courses. Also he has been involved with the Barista Camp since the very beginning in 2014.
In Java Republic, Vini’s role as Coffee Development Manager sees him ensuring that Java Republic remain at the cutting edge of what’s happening in the coffee industry as well as ensuring that the company maintain only the highest standards of coffee education. In early 2016, Vini was appointed to the SCAE Creator’s Group for Brewing & this appointment will seem him contribute in shaping the future of the Speciality Coffee Industry in Europe.
Sandra Azevedo has 17 years of experience as Quality Manager in the Coffee Industry. She’s AST since 2013 in all the modules of the CDS, and she earned the 61st Coffee Diploma. She founded in 2011 a successful training center in Lisbon (Portugal) were she delivers trainings to coffee professionals that come from all over the world. She’s Q grader and National Judge, and she is preparing herself to become WCE Judge. It’s her third time as Trainer at the Barista Camp and she is looking forward for it.

Alberto Polojac (Italy)
Alberto Polojac is a green coffee trader and professional cupper, and owner of Imperator, a company that has imported the best green coffees from all over the world for three generations from its headquarters in Trieste. Alberto has a passion for tasting which quickly led to running purchasing and quality control, visiting various origin countries and participating as a sensorial judge at many international competitions. In 2009 he won the Italian Cup Tasting Championship and in 2012 was the first person in Italy to receive the Q Grader qualification from the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI). Since 2010 he has also been an authorised Trainer of the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE). As well as being an active part of the family company, he offers courses and consulting on green coffee classification, the art of tasting and roasting. Since 2014 he is also a board member of Speciality Coffee Association of Europe chairing the International Development Committee.
Ellen was a primary school teacher before she was a coffee lover. Her passion for coffee started in 2007. Since then she is co-owner of the Antwerp based Cuperus coffee roastery and coffeebar. Since 2016 she is the proud owner of the coffee diploma. As a peoples person, she loves to share, is a believer of eduction and bringing people together! Ellen never gives up and loves to inspire through enthousiasm. When she is not making, smelling or tasting coffee, Ellen likes to spend time with her son of 8 and roaster husband, loves to travel or is meeting friends by preference in nature! I look forward to barista-camp because I am so happy to meet many inspiring, talented trainers and even more talented enthousiast trainees.
Davide is a passionate Trainer from Italy, Education Coordinator on his country, Board of Directors member, he is also International sensory Judge for WBC.
He contributes to sharing the Specialty Coffee view about quality since 5 years around the world and in Italy as well, also on last Barista Camp in Riccione where he was Assistant Ast for Barista Skills Foundation Module.
Davide opened a new Coffee Academy couple of months ago in Verona called Coffee Training Academy, the focus is only on high quality level of Training and the goal is to push up the level around that area.

"Panos (born in Patras, Greece in 1976) started his professional career as a civil engineer and worked in the construction sector for more than ten years. His love for coffee took over when he designed a coffee shop for Coffee Island back in 2010. Today, after joining Coffee Island in 2012, he is the R&D and Network Operation Director, leading a team of 35 coffee professionals, being responsible for the training and operation of the 315 coffee shops of the Coffee Island network.
He is an active AST for the Barista, Brewing, Green and Sensory modules and he has trained more than 1000 coffee professionals. In 2014 he was awarded by the SCAE concerning his trainings. He is a Q-Grader and a leading member of the Coffee Island’s cupping panel, bought and roasted 800tn of specialty coffee in 2015.
Panos is an active member of SCAE, a member of the Education Committee and a member of the CDS Creators Group. He loves the Coffee Community and has been part of both previous Barista Camps. Panos is constantly provoking his sensors, while counting down to BGE's Barista Camp in Estonia."
Dan Lacey (UK)
Dan Lacey is the Head of Coffee, Training and Development at Extract Coffee Roasters in Bristol, UK
He has been an AST for three years and has recently completed his Diploma in Coffee, specialising in Barista Skills and Brewing.
He is a qualified UKBC judge and has also judged in both the UK Latte Art and Brewers Cup competitions in the UK.
Originally from Cheshire, England, Dan moved to New Zealand with his family as a kid, eventually moving back to England, to London, in 2007 where he continued his career in hospitality.
He joined the team at the London School of Coffee in 2011 where he worked as a coffee trainer and hospitality consultant, until joining Extract Coffee late last year.

Now in her second year at Union Hand-Roasted Coffee, Edita began her coffee career in 2011 with Federation Coffee, before opening Sharps with Dunne Frankowski. As the lead educator and roaster at Union's new roasting resource and education centre, Campus, she has been an AST since 2015 as well as certifying both as a World Barista Championship and World Brewers Cup Championship Sensory judge. If you can find her without a cupping spoon in hand, she will most likely be exploring the Hertfordshire countryside on her bike. After attending Barista Camp in Riccione last year, she’s really looking forward for another year of amazing coffee experience.

Giulia has been in the Coffee Industry for 10 years and with Bunn Corporation as Senior Area Manager Europe for over 5 years. Enthusiastic, passionate, conscientious and detail-oriented professional

Raivis Vaitekuns (Latvia)
Raivis Vaiteküns is the first and so far the only AST from Latvia. Being one of the pioneers for speciality coffee in his country he’s also responsible for shaping and developing speciality market there. In 2010 Raivis co-founded the first speciality coffee shop in Latvia - Miit Coffee. Since 2013 the active management of his business is left to one of the best teams in the world, so he himself could evolve as a trainer and consultant for coffee businesses, doing that at Gemoss Coffee Studio, coffee department within Gemoss Ltd. There Raivis has gained wide range of experiences — large consumer seminars, one-on-one customised barista trainings, organising and participating in barista competitions and having overall active voice for speciality coffee in Riga and Latvia.

Regine loves coffee. She has a stack of green coffee books on her bedside table, sleeps with her refractometer, dreams of the perfect extraction, cups 20 to 40 coffees every morning, then trains baristas in the afternoon.
Training is her passion, and connecting with new coffee people is as essential to her as breathing.
Whilst assisting at the Barista Camp, Regine will learn from experienced ASTs, thus improving her own training technique in order to graduate great coffee people. She looks forward to meeting new coffee experts, exchanging ideas and making new connections in the coffee world.
